Overview of EMR Funding

OntarioMD and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) have defined a new EMR program agreement to follow the agreement which ended on March 31, 2015.

The new EMR Agreement, effective August 1, 2015, does not include any payments or incentives to physicians. For physicians who are in a New Adopter Program, payments will continue to the end of their individual Funding Agreements. Any future discussions related to incentives or payments for EMR services will take place between the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the Ontario Medical Association (OMA).

OntarioMD has been very successful in supporting physicians in the selection, implementation and adoption of certified EMRs. A total of 11,650 physicians have enrolled in our programs. Certified EMRs are "funding eligible" for physicians who are participating in a legacy funding program and still going through the adoption process. Certified EMRs enable physicians to access provincial ehealth information systems such as the Ontario Laboratories Information System (OLIS) and the award-winning Hospital Report Manager (HRM) as well as any future services that will be offered by OntarioMD. OntarioMD's products and services support physicians as they realize more clinical value from the use of their EMRs.

If you have a Funding Agreement with OntarioMD, please visit the applicable section on the program page (i.e., NA Program Extension, NA Program, EEU, PCIT).
